to Snow's Cut on this chilly morning. Trout jigs,

Other news: Last night Karen and I went to see the newly released movie,
"LINCOLN". A must see! The movie's main subject shows the painful backroom
negotiations of the nation's 13 amendment and how its vote was used to sway the
ending of the Civil War. Honest Abe?? Very surprising! Politics and war
combined! The relationship of "Lincoln" ,the movie, and the "Daily Fishing
Report" is the last battle of Fort Fisher and the fishing shores of present day
Kure and Carolina Beach. President Lincoln is in the war room with his
officers listening to telegraph operators report the January 15, 1865 battle.
The movie reported 12,000 union men are placed north of the fort while one
thousand artillery shells are being fired per hour from Union War Ships onto Fort Fisher. "Southern General
Whiting has really dug in" quoted a Union officer. Stay

Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Yes it been a week since our last report. Fishing reports have been good. For many, locals included, freezers are packed with a whole variety fresh fish. On this post-election day, fishermen are catching large Virginia Mullets, some as long as 22 inches. Fish house reports their wholesalers have the highest number of fish in many years. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 Folks in the northeast of the USA. Hang in there, it is only going to get worst long before it gets better. Patience is your best asset while working with your fellow man as this natural ordeal unfolds. Fishing reports are the best in years according to local N.C. Wildlife officials. "We have not seen this in a very long time" quoted the officer. She thanks our guest for allowing her to measure all the beautiful fish caught off the surf, right in front of our apartments. Monday, October 29, 2012 9:30 am. Today! Black Drum! Big ones! Right in front of the Blue Marlin Apartments. Fort Fisher State Park reopens today due to the weekend closing by inclement weather. Speaking of the weather, the neighboring states of/and New Jerseys, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and especially Pennsville should expect DEADLY ditch, creek, streams, and rivers washes outs over the next twenty days! Friday, October 26, 2012 11:00 am For us, very few fishermen down the past 4 days. This morning there are 60 or more fishermen on Kure Pier. Other news, the tropical storm has not sparked any activity from the town of Kure Beach. We do not see town vehicles going around with flashing yellow lights alerting folks of any storm warnings. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 Mixed reports this past weekend on "Catching Fish". Spots were very plentiful everywhere along Snows Cut, Kure Beach Surf, Kure Pier, Fort Fisher Air Base Pier, Rock wall and South end. Today were heard 12 Kings were hauled in on the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier. Friday, October 19, 2012 10:00 AM UPDATE!!!! KURE PIER FISHERMEN MOP UP > BIG TIME< ON SPOTS, 3 AM TILL DAWN!!! 7:00 AM Can you name things that go "SPLASH IN THE NIGHT" ? ? ? Mud Minnows feeding on sand gnats in a minnow tank. Yep, a very nice surprise this morning. Sometime during the night our minnow man showed up with some very nice sized minnows. Feisty Rain showers are here today as air temperatures rise. Spots and Croakers are being caught. Sea water temperatures are running around 76-78 degrees. Thursday, October 18, 2012 Virginia Mullets, Pompanos, Spots, Croakers and big Bluefish are making the news. Grab them while you can but there is a big "Mud Minnow Shortage". Tuesday, October 16, 2012 There were more fishermen down this past weekend that the week before. Virginia Mullets, Spots and Croakers were the common catch. Late Sunday afternoon, Karen and I walk along the north side bank of "Snows Cut". We used the ADA ramp at the west end of the county park to gain access. Other than the bright sunshine reflecting off the water, this place makes a great fishing spot. We love the smell of fresh salt marsh! This morning the temperatures are cool and comfortable. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 "Got-a have some more of that Salted Mullet!!" are the words spoken by today's set of fishermen. Our Steal wire Drum Rigs are about gone. In the Fort Fisher State Park, they are doing pretty good with Red Drum and Bluefish. Sand gnats are not too bad. Sand flees and One-Armed Bandits are catching a few Sheep Head reported one fisherman. Virginia Mullets love the Shrimp. Our Mud Minnows tore into a big bug when it fell into the tank. Stay Tuned! Monday, October 8, 2012 Cooler air this morning. Fewer than normal fishermen down this past weekend. Not quite sure? Fishing reports have been pretty good! Spanish Mackerel are all over Kure Pier. Sabiki Rigs <click are back in demand. At this time, we are out of them. Bloodworms are beautiful this year, our dealer has them pack in Tupperware packages plus there is now a full dozen in the deal, $10.75 per box. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 Light rain showers and warm weather this morning. 3 pm skies are clearer, no rain with a south west wind blowing. Sunday, September 30, 2012 One of our customers cleaned a 27 inch Red Drum " yes keeper" yesterday. Many meals from this special creature! Clouds with very light sprinkles of rain fell last night. Today, over cast skies as folks pack up and head back home. Speaking of heading home, the "Cape Fear Memorial Bridge" has closed until 5 am, Monday Morning. Stay Tuned! Friday, September 28, 2012 Yesterday, several "b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-l" schools of young Popeye Mullets swam inside a three foot wave as we thru fish scraps back into the ocean. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 19 inch Flounder Kick the lid off lady fisherman's bucket, twice! Locals are enjoying Virginia Mullets, Flounder, Spots and Back Drum. Sunday, September 23, 2012 Happy Birthday to someone special. Big Game Fishermen were back this weekend for more adventures. They reported the waters off the surf at the Fort Fisher State Park were full of large hand-sized Popeyed Mullets. Something big striped their tackle both nights. Along with this, they caught a few keeper Red Drum, one 26 inches. Others made good photo shots but they had to be released due to size limitations. Virginia Mullets are plentiful in the surf. Thursday, September 20, 2012 Fishing cleaning was fun today! The local seagulls got a big kick out of our mullet guts. We recycle right in front of the Blue Marlin Apartments. Two of our guest caught lots of Virginia Mullets, foot long Pompanos, and Pin Fish on the surf. Boater told us he was having water splashing over the sides of his boat yesterday. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 One of our guest caught several Flounder way-way up the "Cape Fear River". Most were not keepers due to their size. He has been fishing just below the terminal ports in Wilmington. Last night a Pender county fisherman reported his daughter caught a Grouper, yes Grouper in "Futch Creek" close to Scotts Hill. We received our first catch of Local Mullet today! Two days from now we will have our "famous world renowned Salted Mullet." :) Jumbo Canadian Bloodworms are back! $10.75 per pack of 10. Stay Tuned! Friday, September 14, 2012 Pre-autumn weather has been a joy this week. Virginia Mullets have been coming in everyday for the past 5 days.
